K.I.S.S.
Akwaaba (welcome) I wish I could write something long and catchy for my first entry since being in the field. I wish I could impart some divine revelation to you given to me straight from God himself about what I have seen. Well you know I guess something’s are best told simple and plain with no need for super overcritical thinking and elaborate intellect. With that being said let me just simply tell you what has been going on here since I left to enter the field. I left early December from Atlanta to get some needed reflection and mind relaxing before I actually departed. While I was at home I was able to spend some time with family and friends as well as meet new friends. It was awesome being at home meeting others with the interest in the mission field. I actually was able to leave to the field on December 27th on the 28th I touched down in Accra the capital of Ghana. Upon arrival my host Eddie at the airport whom is a wonderful man of God greeted me. For the next 2 days I relaxed and met other missionaries as well as prepared to meet a team from River Stone Church of Marietta Georgia. When the team arrived we left to Kumasi, which was about a 4 to 5 hour ride north straight to the guesthouse to get them settled in. After a full nights rest we then visited the cultural center for them to do a little shopping since it was New Years eve. Later that night we went to watch night service which a wonderful African service where David from River Stone charged. A Ghanaian service is very energetic a lot of praise, praying, worship, dancing, dancing, and more dancing. You know in a Ghanaian church you can definitely feel the presence of God by their all out worship. But anyways let me progress on Sunday we attended service where number 1 Donna from River Stone delivered the message excellently. Through out the next week we interacted with the youth and we also visited an orphanage and were family to those who didn’t have any. All and all the last couple of weeks have been a great learning experience. Feel free to email me with any questions at jusjones23@yahoo.com or on face book. Feel free to have live chats with me via face time at jusjones23@yahoo.com. Please keep me in your prayers.
Blessings,
Justin
